AXA approved to start acquisition negotiations 본문
Sydney, Sep 24, 2007 (RWE via COMTEX) -- AXAPF | charts | news | PowerRating -- (RWE Australian Business News) AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Ltd (ASX:AXA) and its Malaysian joint venture partner, AFFIN Holdings, have been granted approval from Bank Negara Malaysia to start negotiations with a view to the possible acquisition of Malaysian Assurance Alliance Berhad (MAA).
This approval is required to be announced by AFFIN Holdings and the owner of MAA, MAA Holdings Berhad, under Malaysian law. It does not indicate the existence of any contractual agreements.
"We are at the early stages of an investigatory and due diligence process," AXA said.
AXA shares fell 10c to $7.49 on Friday.
